2025 Events: 350th Anniversary

April 14 – The shot heard round the world, the Revolution has begun’- The Ride of Israel Bissell, Otis Library, Monday Apr.14 at 5:30, Dayne Rugh presents the saga of the delivery of the alarm letter to patriots after the Battle of Lexington FREE open to the public.
April 26- OPENING Day at Leffingwell, ‘1775- The Revolution has Begun –
The arrival of the Lexington Alarm, 11am flag raising, 11:30 Reenactment of the Lexington Alarm delivered to Christopher Leffingwell, then ‘what will happen next’ by Gov. John Trumbull and Jedediah Huntington with preparations for war. Big Bear Jewelry.
May 3- OPENING Day: Joseph Carpenter Silversmith Shop,
learn about life on the Green from Jos. Carpenter silversmith & clockmaker, Living History on the Green.
May 17 – Discover Who lived at 350 year old Leffingwell House,
Join us for a special presentation tour that reveals the inhabitants of the house, Tours at 11am, 12, 1pm, 2pm.
June 4, Wed. 5:30pm, Norwich Founders 125th Meeting, Otis Library.
Welcome and review of 2024-25, presentation, light refreshments, free to the public.
June 14, CT Open House Day,
free tour main floor both museums.
July 4, 10-2pm, ‘Be Revolutionary!’,
flag raising, 10:30 presentations on the beginnings of Revolution, reading of Declaration of  Independence, ORIGINAL Rev. documents.

Sept.20,  Return of Benedict Arnold!
Discover both sides of Benedict, 11:30 &  1:30 presentations by Benedict Arnold & Gen. Washington, comments by Ethan Allen & Fort  Griswold, Arnold memorabilia, 1pm- Flock Theatre of New London delivers Arnold’s coffined ‘patriot leg’.
Oct. 4, 366th Anniversary of the Founding of Norwich.
Noon- a brief History of Norwich Founding, City & State proclamations, Bell ringing for 35 Founding Families.
Oct.18, ‘Taste the History of Chocolate’
as Pewter Pot Fine Spiced Chocolate takes you on a journey through the history of chocolate. taste chocolate recipes!
Nov 1st, Last day for both museum
Nov. 8 & 9, Clockmakers of Eastern CT- Presentation & Clocks.
